Gary Fretz Catamaran Broker Gary Fretz, a New Orleans native, received his degree from Tulane University ("Harvard of The South"). Having owned 48 boats and yachts (including two Lagoon catamarans), Gary became a licensed and bonded Yacht and Ship Broker in 1989. In 36 years as a broker and yacht sales manager, Gary has supervised over 1,550 yacht deals which were mostly catamarans. So, he has seen just about every problem that can occur and knows how to keep his clients out of trouble. Gary says "The key to avoiding problems is to 'kill them when they are small, before they turn into a big monster' ".

Gary founded Moorings Yacht Brokerage, which he ran for ten years and built it into one of the world's premier yacht sales organizations averaging 120-130 yachts sold per year. Gary was also the first Brand Manager for Leopard catamarans. As worldwide Director of Yacht Sales for Prout Catamarans, Gary oversaw twelve new-construction projects at their shipyards in China and Thailand. Gary served as a Director of Sales of a major yacht charter company in the B.V.I. for five years, owned Tropical Yacht Charters (Abaco Bahamas) and knows the charter business well, so he can guide his clients to the best charter management operations.

Gary's company (Eastern Yachts) was the exclusive North American importer for Island Spirit catamarans, was a dealer for Fountaine Pajot, Beneteau, Moody, Albin, Hunter and operated a boat yard in the Port of Palm Beach, FL. Gary owned America's oldest sailing school Castle Harbor - founded 1949) until the Covid lockdowns made it financially unviable.

He has spent many years cruising the U.S, Caribbean, Europe and Far East. A competitive sailor since age 7, Gary has vast racing experience. He has a large wall of trophies (a.k.a. "Dust Collectors") from the Star Class (in his STARS named "BLITZKRIEG!" and "HOKUS POKUS"), Etchells ("ROCK n ROLL"), Shields ("RAGIN' CAJUN"), Cape Cod Mercuries ("RUBBER DUCKY") , Tornados ("GREASED LIGHTNIN'", J-24's "PIRANHA", Prams ( "SPOOK" 1962), Sunfish ("KAMIKAZE" AND "ORGASMATRON"), Mini Twelve Meters ("SQUIRT") and this includes some STAR Regionals and 1980 Olympic Trials Finalist (in BLITZKRIEG!), MINI 12 METER National Championship (in "SQUIRT) and MARSHALL SANDPIPER ("KITTY KAT") World's Championship titles.

Dave Koster - Yacht Broker

Dave Koster is originally from the Great Lakes area and has been sailing for over 45 years. He has owned seventeen multihulls over the last thirty years ranging from beach catamarans, hydrofoils, performance racing catamarans and the recent Ocean 49, an Eric Larouche design. Dave has worked in the industry since the 1980's selling and sailing Stiletto catamarans and other performance multihulls including the record breaking Trifoilers for Hobie Cat.

Dave previously was the owner and operator of a rock climbing school.

He is the current owner of Venture Sports Inc, a yacht charter business specializing in catamaran charters and corporate events which was formed in 2002. Dave is also familiar with onboard systems, catamaran hull design and construction, maintenance and operations of yachts and is prepared to assist a client on all levels, whether it's determining which type of boat best suits their needs, finding a specific boat at the best price and condition or assisting with the sale of their existing boat.
