GARY FRETZ BIOGRAPHY - CATAMARAN BROKER

Gary Fretz, a New Orleans native, received his degree from Tulane University ("Harvard of The South"). Having owned 37 boats and yachts (including two Lagoon catamarans), Gary became a Yacht and Ship Broker in 1989. In 22 years as a broker and yacht sales manager, Gary has supervised over 1,450 yacht deals which included hundreds of catamarans. So, he has seen just about every problem that can occur and knows how to keep his clients out of trouble.

Gary founded Moorings Yacht Brokerage, which he ran for ten years and built it into one of the world's premier yacht sales organizations averaging 120 yachts sold per year. As worldwide Director of Yacht Sales for Prout Catamarans, Gary oversaw twelve new-construction projects at their shipyards in China and Thailand. So, he is also in a good position to help negotiate new-build projects. Gary served as a Director of a major yacht charter company in the B.V.I. for five years and knows the charter business well, so he can guide his clients to the best charter management operations. Gary's company used to be the exclusive North American importer for Island Spirit catamarans.



He has spent many years cruising the U.S, Caribbean, and Europe. A competitive sailor since age 7, Gary has vast racing experience. He has a large wall of trophies (collecting dust!) from the Star Class, Etchells, Shields, Cape Cod Mercuries, J-24's, Sunfish Class and this includes some regional and national titles. Gary continues to skipper in over 130 races per year and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License.

He has seen every mistake there is to make and is therefore in the best position to help his clients avoid the perils of catamaran ownership.
